There is a photograph described by the Hawkins family of Maggie's Maternal Aunt who looks as if she may have been a Cherokee. This is the evidence that points to the family belief that there is a Cherokee connection in the Hawkins family. It is a belief that has been handed down within the family and is more than likely true but thus far I have not been able to find documentation. -- Helen R. Hawkins

Mary married William Wilborn Carr, son of Elder Thomas Carr and Living. (William Wilborn Carr was born on 1 Nov 1839 in Grayson County, Virginia and died on 13 Apr 1919.)
