Lily May's life ended tragically. Her brother Kenneth had come home from WWII. He was showing Lily May and some family members the gun he used in the war. It accidently went off and killed Lily May. Kathleen (wife ofLily May's brother John) said that the family brought the two little girls to her that night to take care of.

Loal Cotten faithfully brought his daughters to Hawkins family reunionsthrough out the years.

Lily married Loal Lavesta Cotton in Jun 1930. (Loal Lavesta Cotton was born on 1 Feb 1911 and died on 13 Apr 1977 in Mayer, Colorado.)
