Harry Cohen ³⁶

  General Notes:

Harry fled from the Russian army when his forced enlistment was up; he and his brother Jack walked their way to Copenhagen and then by ship to America. They arrived in 1905. They worked and were able to save money and send for Sophie and son Al.

He was a boot maker for the Russian Army and when he came to America he continued working with shoes and had his own shoe store. He also owned a few apartment buildings. He lost most everything in the 1929 stockmarket crash.

Their sons worked in the shoe store with their parents

Harry married Shifra (Sharon or Sophie) Mutchnik, daughter of Living and Living. (Shifra (Sharon or Sophie) Mutchnik was born about 1875 in Riga, Latvia ^36,75 and died before 1944 in New York, New York ³⁶.)
